GetVendors is really another lead gen site. Good for them to get all the biz they are getting but consumers need a site that is more transparent.

getvendors.com looks a lot like servicemagic’s…right down to the 1, 2, 3 at the top!!!

@langoustine – seems your investigation did not make any good job.. About income, we have tax statements :) and here is no Jeff Skilling – every single advertiser is real.

GetVendors recently approached a tiny (less than $1M year) local advertising company and asked them to buy their “lead generation machine”. Investigating their site shows they have no advertisers, even in the SF Bay Area where they are based, and zero income. It’s the recurring problem – none of these people have the first clue how to sell ads. Check this: “All this without a sales force. Our lead notifications do the job of telemarketing for us without our having to invest heavily in a sales force. The more users we get – the more marketing will happen.”

Yeah, right. Next!
