Possible outcome from Symposium?

Do a local search on Google: 1/17/08.
Previoulsy, the Google Maps section of the SERP returned about about 3 local results (A,B,C). Today there were about 10 (A – J).
Google testing new presentation of local results?
A victory for local search?

Thanks for these reports Peter. Did everyone feel as though they were tutoring the host? They do seem to like to learn as they go.

I notice you did not tag these entries for “vertical.” Was there any sense of how Google wants to work with, ignore, or eviscerate verticals in local markets?
