Interactive Innovator Len Muscarella died last week of a heart attack. Len was 57, happy, and seemingly healthy. A pioneering member of the Videotex Industry Association via his work with CBS and Prodigy (later, the Interactive Services Association), Len was known to many of us as the tuxedoed, wise-cracking emcee for Editor & Publisher’s EPpy Awards. He was really funny.
Len was president of Interactive Media Associates, and worked with a lot of great companies, including a number of non-profit cultural organizations. He really believed in giving back. I think he got the greatest kick out of working with The New York City Ballet, where he played a nice role in putting together a 21st Century plan on the Web and on DVD — including an exercise video! Here’s an obit from his hometown newspaper.

Thanks for posting this Peter. I haven’t seen Len for years, but remember him as a great contributor to the early days of the online medium, always interested in what everyone was doing and a great guy to talk and hang around.
