
Pages Jaunes Group, the French-based Yellow Pages company, has acquired 123people, a white pages search site that gets 40 million unique visitors per month. The Austria-based site has custom databases for 11 countries: Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Sweden, USA and Canada
123People, was launched in Winter 2008 by i5invest, an Austrian incubator, and Gamma Capital Partners, an Austrian VC firm. In addition to basic name, phone number and address search, the site also aggregates photos, videos, email, weblinks, tag clouds, social network profiles, bios, IMs and Microblogs.
The sale price has not been provided, but a press release said the site has returned “200 percent” to investors for each year.
