ThiveHive and Comcast Business announced a big marketing pilot today, in which Comcast Business will push ThriveHive’s SMB marketing platform to its customers. Comcast Business claims 2 Million + customers.
ThriveHive, which reports more than 10,000 customers, is the SMB marketing services division for New Media Investment Group, which also controls small and medium-sized market media giant Gatehouse Media. The division is led by CEO Peter Cannone and President Perry Evans.
Its primary focus is on getting customers maximized for Google My Business. It also provides support for SMB blogs, e-books and various free resources. The company claims its “guided marketing solutions,” highlighting 15 ways to “get more” from Google, can boost SMB search results by 700 percent.
The ThriveHive partnership fills a gap for Comcast, which already provides other third party services for its infrastructure silos (Phone, Internet, Business TV, Smart Office and Cloud Solutions). Among its partners are Office 365, Hostway, DocuSign, Norton , Carbonite Pro and F- Secure.
The availability of marketing services might be seen as an effort to reduce churn. A 2017 Cisco survey found that 82 percent expect services to be bundled with other managed service offerings. If bundles aren’t made available, nearly three quarters of SMBs said they will likely switch providers.
